Junior Golf

The Junior Medalist Program is a seven-week PGA sponsored series that teaches beginning and intermediate juniors about the game of golf, the fundamentals of the golf swing, the Rules of Golf, and golf etiquette. Along with the six learning sessions, there will be a tournament and banquet at the end of the year. Any junior between the ages of 7 & 14, that has a desire to learn about the game of golf.

This is not a tournament program! This program will teach the juniors (with their efforts) about golf, the Rules of Golf, golf etiquette, and the fundamentals of the golf swing.

When the program is completed the juniors will have a very good understanding of what it takes to be allowed to play on regulation golf courses and in tournament events. During each of the six sessions the juniors will be divided into three groups based on age and ability. Each of the groups will rotate through three stations during two hours.

One station each week will be devoted to the rules and etiquette of golf. One station will be a full swing area where the professionals will work with the juniors on their full swings. The last station will cover a specialty shot (sand, putting, chipping, pitching, etc.). If you have a junior who would like further information regarding the Junior Medalist program or being put on the mailing list, please contact Donald Shea, Director of Golf at Foxfi re Country Club at (239) 643-2402.
