Junior Golf
The Southwest Florida Chapter PGA will distribute funds to deserving Jr. Golf Programs that have a 501C3 classification. The Vince Smith Center Southwest Florida Addiction Services The Southwest Chapter of the PGA named this facility in 1991 in honor of the late Vince Smith, golf columnist for the News-Press. The center is the only public residential treatment facility for teens with drug and alcohol abuse problems in Southwest Florida. Since its opening, more than 350 youngsters in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Glades and Hendry counties have started on the road to recovery at The Vince Smith Center.

"I am extremely grateful to the entire staff at the Vince Smith Center, and to the local PGA Chapter who supports this programs's efforts. Approximately six months ago, my son, entered the program. At that time I honestly felt there was little hope for him. He was born an addict due to my addiction to crack. As his parent, I felt I was to blame. The staff though welcomed us both with open arms and did not pass judgement. At that point in my life I made a commitment, I was going to attend every family and group session and take everey piece of advice I could and apply it to parenting. Today before me I see a beautiful young man. The Vince Smith Center has given my son the ultimate gift. Something I wasn't able to give him, the tools and resoursces to stay clean and sober. With this knowledge I now belive he will succeed in whatever he chooses to do in life. I guess what I really want to say is thank you for helping me become a better parent, and giving me back someone whom I felt was gone forever, my son". - Parent
