Located adjacent to the renowned Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa and Hyatt Coconut Plantation Vacation Club in Bonita Springs, Raptor Bay Golf Club made history as the first resort course in the world to receive Audubon International's Gold Signature Sanctuary Certification. Working closely with Audubon International, Raptor Bay has made a commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices, creating a model for future resort golf course development. The first 18 holes opened for play in September 2001 and feature multiple tee locations, so the course can play from a variety of lengths and angles. Fairways are very wide and feature one height of cut throughout the course. Each hole was carefully crafted to blend with the environment, leaving a course that accentuates its natural surroundings. The last nine holes are scheduled to be built in 2006.
Surrounding the course are 22 acres of lakes and more than 200 acres of native vegetation and nature preserve areas, giving some lucky guests a chance to glimpse a bald eagle or gopher tortoise. Strategically placed golf cart bridges allow players to tread lightly on the land while enjoying the course’s native features. Eco-Park, a 144-acre preserve area traversed by Halfway Creek, is designated an Outstanding Florida Waterway. Raptor Bay's old Florida-style clubhouse offers an Ernest Hemingway feel, combining rich textures, bright colors and West Indies-style furniture. Braxton's, the clubhouse grill, offers terrace seating, which wraps around the restaurant and lounge while overlooking the 18th green and practice area. The full-service golf shop, of more than 1,500 square feet, looks out upon Raptor Bay's first tee. Attended men's and women's locker rooms offer golfers the highest level of service in the area. Recently the SWFL PGA recognized Raptor Bay Golf Club as the best resort golf shop in the Chapter (2003).
