Pelican Preserve Golf Club

Pelican Preserve Golf Club is the new name of an old favorite. Previously known as Solana Golf Club, this semi-private club boasts an 18-hole championship course designed by Chip Powell, architect of WCI’s popular Gulf Harbour golf course.

Pelican Preserve Golf Club has received rave reviews based on its playability, scenic beauty and course condition. This player-friendly course offers water, sand and grass hollow hazards that are perfectly complemented by generous landing areas, and gently contoured TifEagle “Ultradwarf” greens. 

With five sets of tees playing to approximately 6,900 yards, players of all skill levels will find the course both challenging and rewarding. Pelican Preserve also offers a fully stocked golf shop, snack bar, driving range and golf lessons from PGA professionals.

“The space available and the placement of hazards will offer players the opportunity to play golf the way it is meant to be played - with strategy and thoughtfulness,” course designer Chip Powell said of Pelican Preserve.

Chip Powell has completed more than 40 major design projects. His work encompasses a wide variety of projects, including the master-planning of complete golf course communities, the design of a variety of new public and private courses, the complete remodeling of existing golf courses and the historical restoration of several classic older courses.

Pelican Preserve Golf Club also offers a glimpse of Florida nature with certification as an Audubon International Signature Cooperative Sanctuary.

A natural resource management plan was developed to guide construction of the course, and will continue to guide the operation and management of the course in the years to come.

One of the primary goals of the plan is to minimize disturbance of wildlife and ecosystems, as well as protect water quality and quantity. Resident and non-resident refundable memberships are available for a modest fee. Although Pelican Preserve is an active adult community, non-resident memberships are open to golfers of all ages.

- Reciprocal opportunities during off-season at WCI clubs and other SW Florida golf clubs (May-October).

In addition to championship golf, the Pelican Preserve community offers an exhilarating lifestyle and unique amenities.
