THE COURSE
Ranking among the best in Southwest Florida, Gordon Lewis’ fantastic course has been designed with dramatic signature holes and generous rolling fairways that excite beginners and advanced golfers alike. Here, the experience is known for challenge as well as playability. Palmira’s annual Palmira Open, which takes place every February, has already become a well-respected, much anticipated annual event. In 2005, the Palmira Open offered a $40,000 purse and thousands of spectators viewed well-known veterans including Tony Jacklin, Bobby Nichols, Larry Laoretti, Nolan Henke and Kenny Knox. THE PROFESSIONAL STAFF
Brad credits his staff with the success they’ve enjoyed in developing the skills of golfers at all levels. “We have very extensive practice areas, and we are adept at analyzing playing styles to identify strengths and weaknesses. My philosophy is to focus on the player’s natural strength to develop potential, not simply working to improve the player’s weaknesses.”
THE SHOP
At Palmira, members and guests delight in the total positive golfing experience, including one of the area’s most exceptional golf shops. A friendly, knowledgeable staff offers an attractive array of the best in apparel including Cutter and Buck, Ashworth, Izod, Gear for Sport and EP Pro, just to name a few. The Golf Shop also carries fine equipment from well-known manufacturers like Titleist, PING, FootJoy and more.
Eager to go above and beyond, Palmira’s golf shop provides additional helpful services like GHIN handicapping system, air conditioned bag storage, shoe shine service, club repair, lessons, club fittings, golf club rentals and more.
THE CLUBHOUSE
The first floor includes spacious men’s and ladies’ locker rooms with card lounge areas, saunas, therapeutic massage rooms, billiards room and dining. The second story opens to a luxurious lobby entry richly enhanced with a fireplace and tasteful décor, a perfect area for social gatherings.
For the highest level of service throughout every area of the club, the kitchen is strategically placed in the center of the second story. Members and guests will find casual dining, formal dining and facilities for large events up to 250 guests.
The clubhouse also provides a unique setting for members to relax and enjoy cocktails in the Fireside Room, an octagonal room featuring a unique cathedral style ceiling.
THE CUISINE
Palmira’s event calendar includes many innovative theme nights such as New England and Caribbean nights, Italian/Mediterranean Pasta Buffets, Seafood Extravaganzas, Holiday Dinner Dances and Epicurean Wine Dinners. Special events allow Chef Billy to showcase the talents of Palmira’s food and beverage department with inspiring menus that excite even the most sophisticated palates.
Chef’s passion for food and the kitchen is evident in his enthusiastic attitude. He truly enjoys creating epicurean delights for Palmira’s members and guests.
