The free application allows you to hand-pick your “Golf Buds,” highlight these Golf Buds your profile page, and then “talk smack” on them by nominating them for special golf awards. “GolfBuds” (the name of the application) users also post scores and comments about their rounds, and these too appear on profile pages.

Some of the Golf Buds nominatins are more serious like “has the sweetest swing” and “is the best putter” or “is the worst golfer on Facebook” and some are a little more light hearted like “waggles like Sergio the most” and “is most likely to stiff the cart girl.” Users can also make up their own nominations if they can’t find one to fi t their favorite golf buddy.

“We’re excited about having this new group of golfers using our Facebook application and getting familiar with our service and our community of golfers” commented Mike Last, president and founder of LastMinuteGolfer.com. “While the Facebook crowd is typically a little younger than our average member, we believe it’s important to keep them thinking about golf as they are poking around online.”

Over 85,000 golfers have already installed the GolfBuds application since it’s launch. 40 Million people now have Facebook accounts. LastMinuteGolfer is now in 38 cities and has a member base that continues to grow exponentially. LastMinuteGolfer’s (members) enjoy frequent golfer rewards, last minute greens fee specials, member events, free handicap and stats tracking and much more. Membership if free.
